Uganda Cranes named African team of 2016

Uganda Cranes has made the country proud emerging the team of 2016 according to Confederation of African Football CAF.

The Cranes qualified for the African Cup of Nations finals for the first time in as many as thirty eight years.

CAF announced the massive news Thursday night in Abuja where they are expected to name Africa's player of the year.

The Federation of Uganda Football Association FUFA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson picked the award on behalf of the team in Abuja Nigeria.

Cranes are on their way to Gabon for the finals of the AFCON which kick off next weekend.
