Absa Premiership strugglers, Baroka FC have parted ways with Ugandan duo Geofrey Massa and Khalid Aucho.
Massa and Aucho both joined the club at the beginning of the season, but have struggled to fit in at the club with the writing having been on the wall since failing to return from international duty with the Cranes at Afcon 2017.
Though Uganda were knocked out in the group stages at the finals, the pair have not been back with Baroka despite three weeks passing since their country’s exit from the tournament.
Officials at the club have issued contradictory statements regarding the pair with club spokesman Jimmy Ngobeni initially stating that the pair had been released, before CEO Morgan Mammila insisted they were still with the club.
Yet club owner Khurishi Mphahlele has now officially confirmed that they have released the pair.
“We have parted ways with those two players and it was a mutual separation. They now have their clearances and are free,” Mphahlele confirmed.
The pair made a combined seven appearances for the Absa Premiership strugglers, yet failed to find the back of the net in the club's maiden top-flight campaign.
