SALARY ROW! Furious Uganda Cranes Coach, Micho Flies out Uganda

  • Micho celebrating after guiding Uganda to 2017 AFCON

Uganda Cranes Head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic is out of the country.
The Serbian tactician flew out this morning at 3am aboard Ethiopian Airlines and reports suggest his final destination is South Africa.

Micho told reporters on Saturday that he was resigning in 48 hours citing unpaid salary arrears and bonuses totalling to UGX230 million (US$64,000). He met FUFA hierarchy on Monday and resolved that CEO, Edgar Watson handles the matter with his South African based agent Ivica Stankovic.

Since taking over as Uganda Cranes coach in 2013, Micho has guided Uganda to the 2017 Afcon, qualification for the 2014 and 2016 Africa Nations Championship and winning the 2015 regional Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup. The Cranes are also the only team in the Cecafa still in contention for a 2018 FIFA World Cup place.
