Murder suspect Kanyamunyu returns to court praying judges grant him bail

Mathew Kanyamunyu has returned to court to hear the fate of his bail appeal as he battles to escape rotting in Luzira.

Mathew, his brother Joseph and girlfriend Cynthia Munwangari are accused of having a hand in the murder of social worker Kenneth Akena.

Matthew through his lawyer Evans Ocheng presented six grounds before Court of Appeal praying release under any bail terms pending disposal of hearing of charges after two fruitless attempts.

However, State objected the businessman's application arguing nothing has changed to compel court to change its earlier verdict.

Justice Nyanzi adjourned court to August 23rd to decide on Mathew's third bail application.

Moses Karuhanga, Julius Kanyamunyu, Timothy Tumusiime, Stella Barungi Karuhanga are the standing surety.

Relatives and friends of the late Kenneth Akena poured in big numbers to follow the proceedings in court.
