Prime minister of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga has handed a land title of 10 acres  to Federation Of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) president, Eng Moses Magogo for the proposed FUFA stadium at Kawolo Division in Lugazi Municipality.

Mayiga and Magogo officially laid the foundation stone and the construction is set to kick off in five years. Inside sources say the funds will come from FIFA and the stadium will have a capacity to accommodate 20,000 spectators.

As of now, Uganda has only two stadiums that can host International games; Mandela National Stadium – Namboole which is government owned and St. Mary’s Stadium – Kitende which is privately owned and was constructed by Former FUFA president, Lawrence Mulindwa.
