The beef between Diamond Platnumz and Ali Kiba – even though the former denies it being real – is one of the deadliest and most infamous in the history of Tanzania’s arts industry. Kiba argues that Naseeb altered and erased his lyrics from a song he(Naseeb aka Diamond) had made him sing on, and that he is a crook.
Diamond took to Instagram to congratulate Ali Kiba, posting a photo of him and his WCB signed singer Harmonize clad in suits, as he joked about his illicit video incident that almost got him jailed.
These two Bongo Flavour superstars have always been seen as sworn enemies, and when fans from both camps heard that Diamond had ventured into the media business with Wasifi Radio and TV, they thought Ali Kiba’s songs wouldn’t be aired. However on Wasafi TV’s official inaugural airing, Kiba’s songs played. Shocking the more, Diamond’s TV has come out to congratulate Ali Kiba upon tying the knot.
Ali Kiba wedded his beloved Amina in the morning of April 19th 2018 at Ummu Kurthum Mosque in Mombasa, Kenya; and he reportedly bagged a whopping 200 Million Tanzanian Shillings in exchange for rights to Azam TV to air his wedding live. A very expensive reception was also planned in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
His ex girlfriend, celebrated actress Jokate Mwegelo – who also happens to be on Diamond’s long list of exes – posted a photo on Instagram with the caption “LOL” which was met with mixed reactions: some consoling her since she was the one expected to wed Kiba, and others dissing her for failing to move on. Kiba’s other ex with whom he has a son, however attended the wedding.
We wish you the best of marriages, Ali. We hope you will keep giving us the sweet music regardless.
