Rachael Magoola and her supporters have taken over Bugiri town with sound of her famous hit ‘obangaina’ blazing loud after claiming the rights to represent NRM in newly created district.
Magoola brought Amina Mutesi, Rose Kajete Birabwa and Monica Musubike to their knees in Wednesday’s NRM primaries.
The Afrigo singer claimed 13,172 votes, Amina Mutesi with 6,691 votes, Birabwa Rose and 5,667 and Musibika Monica with 1, 409 votes.
About 490 votes were declared invalid.
Magoola is set to battle JEEMA party candidate, Sarah Babirye, People Power’s Mercy Walukamba and FDC’s Lillian in the final showdown for the Bugweri Woman MP seat.
