Jilted lover kills ex-girlfriend’s child

A ruthless man has been arrested for hacking to death his ex lover’s 13 year old son and injuring two others as pay back for ditching him .

The suspect is Yusuf Mukisa, 50, a resident of Busamo village, in Kamuli district. He is currently in police custody at Kamuli Central Police station on murder and attempted murder charges.

A fuming Mukisa stormed the residence of his ex- lover identified as Elizabeth Mbwali on Monday at 4:00 am, armed with a sharp machete he reportedly used to chop three children. Mbwali was absent from home at the time of the attack.

The embattled couple split up months ago after Mbwali alleged mental torture and domestic violence, she later moved on with another man, leaving her ex- lover hurting. However, Mukisa vowed not to rest the matter until he has exerted revenge on Mbwali for dumping her.

He told some friends in the village that his ex -lover had humiliated him by ditching him for another man and was brewing her revenge.

Locals allege that this fateful morning, they heard loud noises coming from Mbali’s house and ran to see what was happening , but found one of the children Benjamin Mugaya lying dead in a pool of blood while two others Prossy Babirye and Joan Kaudha were terribly injured.

They claim that the two alive children were rushed to hospital for treatment while other locals pursued Mukisa who was attempting to flee from the village.

Moses Kaggwa, the GISO of Butansi says Local Council Authorities have on several occasions attempted to reconcile the couple but in vain. He says such acts are becoming rampant in villages and most times the accused flee crime scenes.

Kaggwa has now challenged Village Chairpersons to conduct background checks on new residents before allowing them to stay in their communities, which he says will limit crimes of this nature.
Meanwhile ,Busoga North’s Police Spokesperson Michael Kasadha says that the suspect is awaiting prosecution. Kasadha further stresses that Mukisa will be subjected to a thorough mental checkup before progressing with the investigations.
