Lt Gen. (Rtd.) Henry Tumukunde has joined a list of politicians interested in contesting for the Lord Mayor of Kampala come 2021 general elections.
Legendary star, Jose Chameleone, Kawempe North MP Latiff Ssebagala, Ragga Dee among others also intend to contest for city top seat currently occupied by Erias Lukwago.
Tumukunde is yet to decide whether he will run on a party ticket or as an independent candidate but according to sources, he will be prioritizing security when voted in to office. Being a retired General, a task of combing thieves in the city dark corners could be much easier for him.
Sources further tipped us that Lukwago could give up the seat and instead contest for the President of the Democratic Party (DP), which position is currently occupied by Nobert Mao.
