For movie fanatics the world over, Marvel and DC Comics are the real deal. Super power movies for it for most people and the much anticipated masterpiece from Marvel Studios: Black Panther has raised many eyebrows than usual in African communities everywhere on the Globe; most probably because of the galore of black actors in it.
Last night, the World Premiere of Black Panther was held in Los Angeles, California; and the highlight of that for Ugandans is the fact that Daniel Kaluuya, one of the actors who has Ugandan roots, finally made a sign that he considers himself Ugandan: by coming clad in a Kanzu, the traditional wear in Central Uganda. Before this incident, many thought that the lad who was born and raised in the United Kingdom, nothing to do with Uganda.
Florence Kasumba, another Ugandan in the movie, wasn’t seen around the premiere.
Black Panther will be showing in cinemas allover Uganda by February 14th.
