Azam Uganda Premier League Champions, Kampala City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) are through to the CAF Champions League group stage after defeating Ethiopian Premier League side, St.George 1-0 at Startimes Stadium, Lugogo this evening.

Muhammad Shaban’s goal in 47th minute was enough for KCCA FC to secure an important win and write history as the first Ugandan club to qualify to the CAF Champions League group stages in the new format. SC Villa and SC Simba are the other Ugandan sides that have ever played in CAF Champions League highest stage.

1-0 wins means KCCA FC qualify on 1-0 aggregate having held St.Geotge 0-0 in the first leg at home in Ethiopia.

KCCA FC are now assured of pocketing US$ 550,000 million (Approximately Shs 2bn).
