Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Frank Tumwebaze demanded for the arrest and identification of the armed men that were yesterday afternoon(Thursday 18th October, 2018) captured on camera brutalizing and seemingly abducting an unidentified man near Christ the King Church ,in Kampala .
According to minister Tumwebaze, such incidences could be schemes of anti-government plotters to tarnish the name of NRM government.

Social media is still abuzz with fury over the impunity and callousness of the abductors who were seen in broad day light, at around lunch time, gun-butting the man in the chest and stomach, and dragged him on the streets before bundling him into a waiting commuter taxi number UAF 325S. As the taxi drove off, the man could be heard painfully crying out for help.
“So how does gov’t come out to deny the fact that they are not responsible for the torture, killings and kidnaps of its citizens in the country,” said Jerem Olivia on Facebook. Ndyatunga Simon added: “This is horrible and inhuman, why do you torture someone who is already down? It is not like he is refusing to be arrested!”
Police has since distanced it self from the unknown men . When contacted last night for a comment, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman Luke Owoyesigire said the armed men were unlikely to be part of the police force.
He said Police doesn’t use public transportation vehicles during its operations.
“I doubt it,” Owoyesigire told us in a brief message. “We don’t use taxis.”
However, highly placed security forces said that the armed men are from the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI).
When contacted to verify the claims, Army spokesperson Brigadier Richard Karemire, referred us to his deputy, Lt Col Deo Akiiki, who confirmed he had seen the videos but promised to verify.
“I have just seen the videos but let me first verify before I make any comments,” he said .
Meanwhile, Government spokesman Ofwono Opondo says the perpetrators would be found and brought to book.
“Investigations are underway to establish who and from which security agency if at all they belong to government,” he reassured.
