Express 1-1 SC Villa
Express FC looked like they were about to snatch a massive result against their arch rivals SC Villa after going ahead through Disan Galiwanga only for Shafik Bakaki to show up to nod home an equalizer.
Galiwango’s thundering shot from a yard away in the 77th left SC Villa goalkeeper Yusuf Wasswa with no choice as he helplessly saw the ball settle in the back of his net.
Express FC celebrations were cut short five minutes later when Pius Mbidde brought down Joseph Ssemujju close to the goalkeeper’s area paving way for the referee to hand a free kick to the visitors.
Bakaki rose high up to bang the ball into the net with Tony Kyamera failing to deal with it after he appeared to have wrongly timed his move.
Eric Kambale had the day’s big chance to put his Red Eagles side ahead in the opening hours of the second when he ably controlled a long ball before blasting it wide.
Ambrose Kirya too had a glorious chance from SC Villa put to waste when he allowed Pius Mbidde to bully him when he was left with the SC Villa goal to fire into.
Old boy Joseph Semujju was a thorn in the Red Eagles goal area with clever runs into the box and came close when he saw one of his efforts goal off the woodworks.
Express now await table leaders KCCA in their next fixture which is on Saturday 20th April.
