They say people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture are akin to a tree without roots. Culture World in partnership with Ministry of Tourism Wildlife and Antiquities and UNCC has per this cause announced 22nd June, 2019 has the official date for Uganda’s first premier culture festival slated at Uganda Museum.

The festival has been tailored to appeal to the exuberance of youth and to inspire the youth to view culture as an asset they can return to for wealth, health and happiness.

It will begin at 9am and there will be a cultural fair featuring exhibitors and an area built up with stalls stocked with food, beverage and cultural bounty to vend.

Cultural leaders and dignitaries are expected to attend. And there will be activities like bazaar, performances, fashion show, poetry, exhibitions, mini-tournaments and comedy.

At 6pm, invited guests and VIPs will be received to an afrocentric carpet experience and a fashion showcase that is the center piece of the day. A selected team of creative designers will dazzle the attendees with an arrangement of pageantry in fabric.

Multi-cultural exhibitors will be able to make money in a vending capacity through mediums like MoMo Pay and acquire TIN numbers for free.

There will also be games like board games (Mweso and Ddulu) and multi-player games encompassing ‘kwepena’.
