ARSENAL fans breathed a huge a sigh of relief as fierce rivals Tottenham failed to win the Champions League losing to Liverpool in Madrid.

Spurs were beaten 2-0 thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.

And Liverpool fans were not the only celebrating the result, as Arsenal supporters were left in joy as their rivals failed to pip the Gunners to be the first out of the two to win the Champions League.

One said: “Thank god tottenham haven’t won fair play to Liverpool but that game put me to sleep.”

Another said: “There is a god thank you. I’m looking forward now to seeing all the Tottenham players and fans in tears.”

One added: “Thank God spurs lost. Would’ve had to stop watching footy.”

Even West Ham got in on the action, tweeting: “Huge congratulations to @LFC on behalf of literally everyone at West Ham United.”

It was Spurs’ first Champions League final but they failed to stamp their mark on proceedings and were left with a runners up medal.

Arsenal have once reached the Champions League final – losing 2-1 to Barcelona in 2006.
