There was drama at parliament today as proceedings of the Parliamentary Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) were abruptly adjourned after fire broke out in the ceiling of the conference hall in which it had convened.
The fire sent legislators running for their dear lives before firefighters put it out.
The committee, chaired by Makindye East legislator Ibrahim Kasozi that had just started grilling the officials from the Attorney General’s office as they had convened to investigate the fraudulent acquisition of properties of the departed Asians by some big wigs in government.
