President Museveni has directed the transfer of Gender Ministry Permanent Secretary Pius Bigirimana to the Judiciary.
In a letter dated July 26, 2019, Head of Public Service Dr John Mitala puts it out clearly that Bigirimana is required to hand over his office and take over the new position without any delay.
Bigirimana replaces Kagole Kivumbi(who has been sent on forced leave. The troubled Kagole Kivumbi is under investigation by Public Accounts Committee of Parliament and police over misuse of public funds.
The development comes against the backdrop of a corruption scandal at the judiciary. Officials at the Ministry of Finance said judiciary is in a mess with staff failing to get payments.
Sources say Bigirimana is expected to clean up the mess in the judiciary. When contacted, Bigirimana thanked the president for the trust bestowed upon him.
