Yesterday night singer Eddy Kenzo finally met with the Father of the nation, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at Entebbe State House.
Kenzo who was very bitter with the Government for treating him like an option yet he has marketed Uganda world wide through his music claims that he had a fruitful conversation with Sevo.
“…It was a warm and a fruitful discussion about my individual achievements but also most importantly about the huge potential and opportunities available in the arts industry which he pledged to give full government support. I’ll provide details of our interactions anytime soon in the course of this week…”, he said.
During the State dinner, Sevo who promised to bankroll Kenzo’s music career apparently tasked him to champion NRM’s wealth creation campaign in the Ghetto and also popularize ‘Yellow programs’ among the youths.
This is the same job first Muzukulu Bebe Cool has been doing for NRM but now from the look of things, his services might not be needed since Kenzo appeals more to the Ghetto youths.
The Big Talent Boss is a product of the Ghetto and fronts it wherever he goes unlike Bebe who is more of an uptown star. This is why Kenzo is seen as a valuable asset by the top bosses.
This is not be the first time Kenzo is to work with the Government. In 2011, his Stamina song was used by Sevo in presidential campaigns and indeed it worked magic.
Kenzo harvested hefty cash from the project and he was even promised to be given a free Mpe Nkoni ride.
However he says that even up to now, he has not yet received it!
