The Traffic Police Investigations Unit has finalized its investigations into the death of the people power activist Ritah Nabukenya.

Nabukenya 28, met her death in an accident at Nakawa Kampala on the 23 February on a Boda Boda to meet her friends at Buganda road court at Pope Paul Memorial hotel.

This followed claims that the deceased was deliberately knocked unconscious by a 999 Patrol vehicle and rushed to Mulago referral hospital where she succumbed to injuries she sustained.

The police came out and dismissed the allegations as untrue noting in a statement that the patrol car only came in to transport the deceased to the hospital following the accident.

Police even promised to release footage to rule out allegations that Nabukenya was run over intentionally. Enanga made a U-turn, saying his team had notified him that the Closed Circuit Television –CCTV cameras at the time of the incident.

This prompted the IGP to institute the Traffic Police Investigations Unit to carry out an independent investigation into the controversial death.

The Unit Commandant Assistant Superintendent of Police –ASP, Pamela Kentaro who declined to give any details in the report says she played her part and has already handed the report of her findings to the Inspector General of Police –IGP, Martin Ochola.
