Robin Van Persie left Arsenal fans fuming when he joined arch-rivals Manchester United in 2012 and the Dutch man has risked infuriating the Gunners faithful once more.
Robin Van Persie says the no.20 shirt he wore for Manchester United means more to him than his no.10 Arsenal jersey because “the story with it makes it special.”
The Dutchman burst onto the English scene at Arsenal after completing a move from Feyenoord in 2004, going onto become one of the best strikers in the club’s history.

Despite scoring 132 goals in 278 appearances for the Gunners, though, Van Persie only got his hands on the FA Cup in his time in north London.
He eventually sealed a move to rivals in 2012, where he would clinch the Premier League title after scoring 26 goals in his debut season.
The center-forward only spent another two years at Old Trafford, later enjoying a brief stint in Turkey with Fernerbahce before heading back to Feyenoord in 2017 where he retired from the game last year.

When asked if he preferred wearing the No.10 shirt at Arsenal or the No.20 at United in an interview with Galaxy Tv, Van Persie admitted the latter was the most special of the two.
“Well No.10, the number itself is nicer than 20, but it’s the story with it makes it special. I will go for 20 because that story has more impact.”
Van Persie flourished at United under Sir Alex Ferguson dishing out one final dairdryer before he left Old Trafford, ripping into two players for parting in the aftermath of a defeat against neighbours Manchester City.
