Nyabushozi County MP Col. Fred Mwesigye has returned Shs20M cashed to his bank account.
Parliament approved Shs10Bn last week to help facilitate MPs to join Covid-19 National Task Force.
Col. Mwesigye decided to return the Shs20M sent to his bank. He argued that the money was not handled professionally.
Col. Mwesigye said: “I returned the money to Bank of Uganda Parliamentary Commission Account.”
The former Managing Director of National Enterprises asserted: “Whereas iI support that MPs should be facilitated to join the war against Covid19.”
He added: “I disagreed with the way that money was put into the budget. If it had come from the commission, I wouldn’t have had a problem.”
