Idah Nantaba is at it again this time not having it her way.
Nantaba is the member of Parliament for Kayunga district.
The legislator’s attempts to change committees backfired in Parliament when Speaker Rebecca Kadaga told her off.
Nantaba is designated to the Committee on Climate Change.
The MP wrote to Speaker Kadaga requesting to be assigned to the Committee on Natural Resources.
However, Kadaga rejected her request, asserting that the committee is over subscribed.
Nantaba has been out of the public eye. In a recent interview with NTV Uganda, she revealed that there are “Mafias” fighting her and surrounding and controlling the President.
The Kayunga MP lost her ministerial position as state minister for Information and Communications Technology in President Yoweri Museveni’s last cabinet reshuffle.
Nantaba, last year, survived an assassination attempt in Nagalama, on her way from Kayunga.
Gun men shot at her car but missed her, leaving a gunman killed in the process.
The MP recollected the incident in an interview with media: “The fact is they attempted to finish us from a road side grocery where I usually stop to buy my groceries and if God had not helped me to see the assassin fast enough before he got close to us.”
