A small crowd of people has converged to bid farewell to the controversial Maj. Gen Samuel Wasswa Kasirye Ggwanga’s at his farm in Nkene village, Maanyi sub-county in Mityana district.
The scientific burial ceremony happening today started at about 10 am on Friday 12th June which is currently underway.
Only the family, UPDF and close friends have been allowed at the burial ground meanwhile friends and admirers have missed ot on the farewel ceremony.
Brig. Richard Karemire, the army spokesperson on Thursday while at the Uganda Media Centre, said the army has taken over the burial grounds in compliance with Covid-19 preventive measures on no Mass burials.
Only government-owned media like UBC and the new vision have exclusive coverage of the event and other media houses are allowed to get the feed off them.
Maj. Gen Kasirye Ggwanga died on Tuesday at Nakasero hospital.
