President Yoweri Museveni has on Wednesday heaped honor on his wife of 47 years Janet Museveni while wishing her a happy birthday in a message posted on his official social media account.
Museveni has praised the first lady for being a rock to his family and a great mother to the nation.
The first lady who doubles as the Education Minister makes 72 years today.
Janet Kainembabazi Kataaha was born in Bwongyera village in Kajara county, in 1948 in Ntungamo District in Western Uganda to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kataaha.
She married Yoweri Museveni in August 1973.
The two grandparents have sired 4 children together including; Maj General Muhoozi Kainerugaba Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, Natasha Karugire, Fashion designer, and Private Secretary to the President for Household Affairs, Patience RwabwogoPastor of Covenant Nations Church and Diana Kamuntu.
The message that was posted this afternoon has since drawn mixed reactions from Ugandans. It reads;
”On Maama Janet’s birthday this 24th of June, I would like to congratulate her. I thank her for being a rock to our family and mother to our larger family of Uganda.
May God continue to bless and keep her” Museveni said.
