The NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagukanyi is grieving after the death of Badru Katongole an NUP MP aspirant for Bukoto central.

”On behalf of the NUP fraternity and on my behalf I send my deep sympathies to his family, friends and to all of us that knew him, what a loss to the forces of change, we shall coordinate with the family concerning the burial arrangements,” Bobi said

Katongole an NUP parliamentary candidate in Masaka district perished in an accident this morning.

He was traveling in a saloon vehicle, with his friends who sustained injuries and were rushed to Hospital while Katongole’s lifeless body was reportedly transferred to Kyazanga Hospital.

The accident occurred this morning at 2.00 am at Kyazanga trading center in Lwengo district when the driver of the saloon car registration number UBG 169S lost control of the vehicle knocking an electric pole at the roadside.

Katongole died on the spot while 4 others he was moving with got injured.

Katongole was reportedly on his way to attend the burial of celebrated Muslim scholar and political analyst Dr. Anas  Karisa who died suddenly on Wednesday at his home.

Among the injured and hospitalized is Pablo Bashir the NBS Television Protocol officer who is in critical condition, Hannah Nakito a resident of Nakulabye, and Nagayi Jawuhara also of Nakulabye.

Katongole was contesting for the Bukoto central seat at the time of his death.

Dr. Karisa is to be buried today at his ancestral home in the Ntungamo district.
