After successfully canvasing for votes in the areas of Lira, Arua, Moroto and Kumi District, the National Unity Platform flag bear Robert Kyagulanyi Saturday afternoon finally embarked on an Eastern tour to continue with his mass mobilization campaign and election sloganeering in the district of Mbale.
However just like the Uganda Police Force had worked extremely hard to interfere with his activities in Moroto, the men in grey uniform had no time to massage Bobi Wine and his supporters as he made a stroll through Mbale City together with his motorcade.
As soon as Police realized that Bobi Wine’s presence in the City center would attract a large gathering of people, they straight away began firing tear gas at the charging crowd.
To add even more salt into an already bad situation, Police went a step ahead and sprayed Bobi Wine’s car with tear gas an act which put more strain on Bobi Wine’s entire crew
Bobi Wine was later whisked away from the City Centre by Police before making formal arrangements of how he would reach his people on Radio
