By now, the Aka dope Stars is probably a household name because of its exciting vibes from talented underground artists. A ka dope stars episode 2 was headlined by the rap star Mun G, the show witnessed his extraordinary lyrical maturity and a freestyle groove of musical performance.
This year in a talent search dubbed ‘A Ka Dope Stars’, the organizers will be looking for Uganda’s next music star with the support of 101 Music, Uganda Waragi, and Roke Telecom making it possible for them to walk away with a music recording deal and a cash prize of UGX 2 million.
The Uganda Waragi sponsored show that aired online on Sunday night featured four contestants two male rappers, Emuron and Matt Travers, and two female vocalists, Bangi and Anna.
Emurson was the first contestant to perform on the A ka dope stage, singing his original Kampala Ssibizimbe, a fusion of Luganda and English inspired by the daily city hustles. According to Emuron, his musical career was inspired by the legendary America rapper, Eminem.
He was followed by female contestant Anna, a 20-year-old talented artist inspired by America’s darling Rihanna. Anna too pulled off an energetic performance singing her original composition titled Outside. Anna who couldn’t afford to hide her excitement after her rip-roaring performance was optimistic about proceeding to the grand finale show.

The third competitor Bangi, who is also a radio presenter on one of the leading Radio stations in Kampala sung her heart out leaving the revellers wanting for more of her thrilling melodies. Her song Predator was incredibly relatable as it described the endless heartbreaks that many people go through to find their perfect life partners.
Matt Travers, an S6 vocalist and rap enthusiast were the fourth on the stage and he blew it up with his bang titled Destiny Child. The young rap star is passionate about rap music and his bond with the mentor (Mun G) on stage was exceptional. Matt too has his eyes on the top-most prize and breaking barriers in the city rap industry.
Team Mun G was sealed off by an electrifying performance from the Mentor himself alongside the mentees singing his hit song Champion featuring a songbird Naava Grey. Results from the first episode also known as Team Naava were announced and the winner Mitchy has proceeded to the grand finale.
For the contestants to qualify for the next round, their fans will have to vote for them online by visiting the A ka Dope website star.akadope-ug.com and Uganda Waragi social media pages. Listening to their original songs on all digital services providers pages gets a contestant vote.
