Lawyers to the NUP party president Robert Kyagulanyi have paraded themselves at Iganga Magistrates court, blindly awaiting the arrival of their client who is expected to make an appearance today.
The lawyers led by Anthony Wameli and Benjamin Katana among others stormed the court premises this morning with their documents and have since been anxiously waiting.
Benjamin Katana says they decided to show up based on heavy security deployment of police and military in the vicinity.

‘’We are also judging from the deployment around the court’’. Katana says
Wameri however, told journalists that, his client has spent more than 48 hours in police cells and they expect him to appear before court today.
Also present at the court is his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi and other NUP party leaders.
Security is uptight at Iganga Magistrates court with armed police- Police Field Force Unit-FFU personnel and military, a clear indication that a high profile case is going to be handled.

‘’We are not here on the basis of communication from the office of the DPP or police. We have not received any communication from the authorities about whether or not our client will be produced in court but we are getting information from our sources, ‘his Lawyer Benjamin Katana says
Bobi has been in custody at Nalufenya since Wednesday this week after he was brutally arrested in Luuka district for holding a rally of more than 200 people in defiance of the EC guidelines on meetings.

The EC revised the number of people to be hosted in a rally or meeting for campaigns from 70 to 200 persons.
Bobi wine has been charged with unlawful assembly and acting in a way likely to cause the spread of infectious disease

Katana has described the ongoing court process as illegitimate because he has been denied access to his lawyers and has been held beyond the mandatory 48 hours
