Distressed NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi has arrived at the Electoral Commission EC on Wednesday following the cancellation of his campaigns yesterday.

Bobi wine announced the halting of his campaigns following bloody and chaotic scenes that played out in Kayunga and Jinja city yesterday.

He will be meeting the EC chief Justice Simon Byabakama and other EC officials behind closed doors.

Bobi arrived  clad in a blue suit escorted by  NUP Party members like Nabilah Sempala, Joel Ssenyonyi, Allan Ssewanyana, Muhammed Ssegirinya among others

Bobi Wine’s troubles started in Kayunga district after police and the military blocked the roads leading to his rally in Kayunga district.

A defiant Kyagulanyi decided to use an alternative route to the venue on foot with his supporters prompting security forces to fire rubber bullets to disperse the forming crowds.

In the process, NUP supporters and 2 close members of his team, a music producer Dan Magic and Wilfred Kato, a police officer who is part of his security detail were badly injured.

They are currently admitted at Mulago national referral hospital for treatment.

After that, Kyagulanyi proceeded to Jinja city where he was supposed to have his last rally of the day but police again blocked him at the Nile Bridge firing bullets at his car tires deflating them.

It is at that point that a fuming  Kyagulanyi decided to call off his campaign until he meets the electoral commission today over the continued police brutality

Joel Ssenyoynyi the EC spokesperson while addressing the media yesterday at Kamwokya repeated Bobi’s statements to meet the EC over continued violence on their candidate.

Ssenyonyi says it’s high time the EC gives its stand on the police /military brutality that continues to leave both NUP and innocent supporters dead or badly injured.
