After 6 days in quarantine, Kasule Lumumba has tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.

The National Resistance Movement party secretary-general went into isolation after her 3 of her close working contacts contracted the virus.

The NRM party national treasurer Rose Namayanja says Lumumba is stable and under medication.

Lumumba said in a statement on Monday evening that she was advised by scientists to immediately go into self-quarantine as a precautionary measure as she awaits her results.

She also said the campaign mobilization and coordination activities of the party secretariat would proceed as usual.

Namayanja has cautioned the public to observe the standard operating procedures especially during this time of campaigns by washing hands and continue wearing masks.
