The Electoral commission headquarters remain silent with no form of activity except for massive deployment of Police and Military idly keeping watch.

By 7 am on Monday motor and foot patrol were already seen positioning around the EC Ntinda based offices and within the premises anxiously anticipating the arrival of the 2 presidential candidates .

Information from the security team on the ground is that they should only let in National Unity Platform strongman Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and Forum For Democratic Change-FDC’s presidential candidate Patrick Amuriat Oboi.

Earlier on Monday, the NUP mouthpiece Joel Ssenyonyi confirmed that  Bobi will not be interacting with the E C, despite a summon to meet in person.

Ssenyonyi affirmed that a team from his party would represent Bobi as he is already campaigning in Karamoja and coming back to Kampala would interfere with his campaign schedule.

Meanwhile, the FDC camp has gone silent on the summon, leaving people confused about whether Amuriat will respect the summon and show up or not.

Last week , the EC Chief Justice Simon Byabakama summoned  Bobi and FDC’s Patrick Amuriat Oboi for disregarding the COVID-19 election guidelines on not holding rallies with massive crowds.

The meeting is also partly aimed at harmonizing the working relationship between the candidates and the police.

The EC has restricted the numbers for meetings of aspiring candidates and supporters to not more than 200 people as a means of slowing the spread of coronavirus.
