National Unity Platform-NUP strongman Robert Kyagulanyi has lashed out at the Uganda communications commission -UCC for threatening to block his Ghetto media channel.
UCC wants to bring down a list of informal social media platforms famous for airing un filtered content to Ugandans and those in the diaspora of ongoing campaigns.
Now, the government through the UCC has written to Google requesting the global search engine to block all Ugandan YouTube channels that misrepresent facts in a manner that is likely to incite public violence.
The channels work on various platforms like Facebook and youtube among others.
However , Bobi wine has accused the state of being scared of the world knowing the dark truth that is now revealing its real image.
‘‘I call it the Uganda miscommunication commission, for writing to google to block channels that show Uganda and the world government’s brutality, that shows the level the Museveni’s gov’t has reached in hiding the truth, we don’t have guns to fight, but use the camera as our weapon and unedited truth, Ugandan journalists are being beaten and their accreditation removed, even foreign journalists have been chased back, they fear because they are breaking the law”Bobi said
Among the targeted channels are Ghetto TV, TMO Online, Lumbuye Fred, Trending Channel Ug, Uganda Yaffe, Uganda News Updates, Busesa Media Updates, Uganda Empya, Map Mediya TV, KK TV, Ekyooto TV, Namungo Media, JB Muwonge and Bobi Wine 2021.
