With Just a month to the 2021 general polling day, Independent presidential candidate Willy Mayambala has finally thrown in the towel and suspended his campaign meetings in various parts of the country.
Cash-strapped Mayambala attributes halting campaign meetings to the fact that Uganda is in an era of battling COVID -19 and as an aspiring president he is working towards containing its spread by not gathering crowds.
Mayambala says he is working with his entire campaign team to strategize options on how he can reach all his voters with his manifesto countrywide.
Mayambala says he will be holding a state of the nation address on Wednesday by 2 pm to reveal his new tactic.
This is not the 1st time that Mayambala is suspending his campaigns, on Dec 02,he presented his letters to the EC head offices in Ntinda, threatening to stop his campaigns indefinitely if the EC doesn’t change his security guards in 2 days.
He claims the EC aided guards are biased and only operate on orders from above.
