The NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni was in Kasese on Tuesday to look for votes and left with 10 heifers loaded on a Fuso truck as a gift from NRM leaders in the district.
The leaders claim they are satisfied with Museveni’s leadership that has fostered peace countrywide and development.
The President told the leaders at Nyakansanga playgrounds in Kasese municipality that the peace enjoyed in the Kasese area, after years of ADF rebel attacks is because of unity that brought about a strong army, the UPDF.
“You the people of Kasese should be witnesses to the rest of Ugandans. You know what happened here and in countries like Congo. For almost 60 years since independence, Congo is not settled.”Sevo said
Kasese district is an opposition stronghold and in the previous elections, all their six Members of Parliament came from the Forum for Democratic Change.
Senior presidential press secretary Don Wanyama is one of the many that has reacted to Museveni’s astonishing reward.
He scoffs at NUP’s Bobi wine who earned himself a chicken as a gift from the opposition stronghold.
”Bazzukulu call it “level”. Ten heifers on one side and a chicken on the other (and the chicken was donated in a district with one of the highest head of cattle)” Wanyama posted on his Twitter handle.
His post blew up the social media platform, drawing mixed reactions from Museveni’s Fans and critics.
