Prime minister Ruhakana Rugunda uses the words ‘true Icon’to explain the personality of the departed second deputy PM, Ali Kirunda Kivejinja.

Rugunda says Kivejinja fulfilled the NRM ideology of quality service delivery, peace, unity, and tolerance.

He adds that the late was truthful and a great adviser at the prime ministers’ office who was full of wisdom.

“He was very well informed, he became a reference point in many areas and therefore easily articulated the political line, principles, policies of the NRM, KK was somebody who called a spade a spade, who said it as it is, so much so that in many of the meetings we have had with KK, we would normally not want to come to a concrete decision until we have sought his wisdom and he graciously gave his views on almost any issue,” Rugunda said at his burial

Kvejinja succumbed to Covid-19 on Saturday evening aged 85 years.

He was given a 24 gun salute in honor of his faithful service and laid to rest in his ancestral home in Buwabe village, Ibulanku sub-county, Bugweri district.
