The same stadium hosting the first leg is the same stadium in which KCCA FC won the finals of the CECAFA Clubs Cup 2019 against Tanzania’s Azam FC hosted in Kigali, Rwanda.

13 times Uganda Premier League Champions KCCA FC will be hoping to make amends after those back to back losses before the break of the 2020/21 domestic league.

The fixture comes after that away loss against SC Villa and URA FC at home. Both losses in a space of four days.

These marked KCCA first loss of the season ending the 3 game unbeaten run the club had held since commencement of the 2020/21 domestic league.

The Kasasiro boys traveled to Kigali, Rwanda on Sunday 20th December and were tested for covid-19 and quarantined for close to 48 hours as per the host nation’s COVID guidelines.

On leaving the quarantine center, the contingent had to undergo another COVID 19 test before the final training session. The group had only one training session on Tuesday 22nd December at Kigali Stadium, Nyamirambo.

KCCA FC received a bye from CAF in the previous round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The game against AS Kigali on Wednesday will be the first CAF game for the Ugandan side in over a year. The last CAF Confederation Cup game for KCCA FC was on 3rd November 2019 against Paradou AC away in Algeria.

Defender Filbert Obenchan could earn a starting place in the team after his impressive display as a substitute against SC Villa last week.

Academy graduate Moses Aliro passed his fitness test and is fit to play. The player missed the last two league games against SC Villa and URA FC due to injury.

Forward Samuel Ssenyonjo will be hoping to make his CAF debut for KCCA FC. The teenager has 8 goals in 9 games for KCCA FC.

Teenagers Kafumbe Joseph and Kizza Bukenya fresh from the AFCON U20 qualifiers in Tanzania, earned their first CAF trip and will be hoping to impress if handed an opportunity to play.

Former KCCA soccer academy captain Musa Ramathan could feature on Wednesday on a ground from which he won his first silver ware for KCCA FC last year in July in CECAFA Club Championship.

Defender John Revita also travelled with the squad to Rwanda. A bunch of players are ruled out due to injuries and sickness
