An angered teenage girl in Kapelebyong District has ended her life with poison after being flogged by her dad.
The girl whose names have been withheld killed herself on Sunday morning after her father used a heavy stick to whip her 3 times for pouring a basin of sorted cowpeas.
Protesting her father’s actions, the teenage girl a resident of Ocorukoit B Village, Amootom parish, Okungur Sub County of Kapelebyong District decided to drink poison.
She picked a deadly brand of poison used to kill birds called Damacron and galloped it.
David Ariku, the father of the deceased noticed his daughter was unconscious on the ground moments after she had taken the poison and rushed her to the Orungo health centre IV but she was already dead by the time they got there.
Ariku, says that he had told the deceased to sort the cowpeas but she instead poured almost half a basin in the bush prompting him to punish her with three strokes of the cane.
