The lifeless body of a 35yr old watchman has been discovered at a building site in Makindye Kelezia zone, Kampala.
The dead body of Opio Epale was discovered lying in a pool of blood on his bed by the site manager identified as Arafat Bamulesewa.
Arafat told Police that he received a call from the site owner Ahmed Suuna who had come to inspect his building , only to find Epale missing.
Arafat says Suuna reportedly sensed trouble when he arrived at the site and noticed the deceased was missing alongside some items.
Suuna called Epale on his mobile ,but when he failed to get through to him, he decided to call Arafat the site manager who launched a search for the deceased only to find him dead in his room..
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango says Epale’s head had been smashed with a blood-stained hammer by unknown goons who later fled the site with building material valued at sh7.5million shillings.
Among the stolen items were 3 bags of cement, 2 drills, wheelbarrows, and the deceased’s Techno mobile phone.
He adds that homicide detectives recovered the hammer suspected to have been used in the murder, and it has since been subjected to forensic analysis.
Onyango says investigations are currently ongoing at the Katwe Police Station but the body of the decased .
