Record TV Invites ‘Prodigal’ Son Douglas Lwanga To Come Over & Witness The Closure Of The Station
On Wednesday afternoon, the management of Record TV finally confirmed to the public that they had officially closed business in Uganda.
According to the station’s Managing Director, Ezekiel Motsoeneng, it was made clear that starting Thursday 1st April, the much beloved TV station will be off air.
Motsoeneng intimated that Record TV has had bad business, which was accelerated by the outbreak of Covid-19.
He further revealed that Record TV will pay all journalists and other staff members who have been working for them.
To make their closure touching and perhaps more emotional Record TV invited one of their first stand out employeed Douglas Lwanga to be around during the send off of the station.
It should be remembered that Douglas worked for record TV between 2008 & 2013 before joining NMG to work as a presenter on NTV the beat.
Being the humble soul every one has known over the years, Douglas honored the invitation and even shared a touching message on his Facebook page.

The station started its operation in Uganda on January 29th 2006.
The Kira road based station is an affiliate of Record TV International, a Brazilian -owned free-to-air channel that broadcasts 24 hours via satellite and cable with digital parameters.
