Kayunga LC5 Chairman Dead

Locals in the Kayunga district awoke to the shock of the lifeless body of the LCV Chairperson hanging on a jack fruit tree.

The deceased Kayunga district boss Ffefeka Sserubugo reportedly committed suicide at his home in kyewanja village under unclear circumstances.

According to Sserubugo’s wife, her husband returned home on Tuesday night and said he was unwell before he swallowed his high blood pressure medicine and proceeded to rest.

She says they were shocked to see him hanging on a tree the following morning.

Rumors circulating from locals claim that the deceased could have been murdered because he was a very vocal character on matters of corruption and land grabbing.

Sserubogo was sworn in as the new District Chairperson on the National Unity Platform-NUP party ticket in May this year.

Sserubugo contested against Andrew Muwongo of the NRM party, Thomas Muwanga, Boniface Musisi, Fred Ssemyalo, Patrick SSempijja, and Dan Wabomba an Independent.

However, Preliminary findings indicate that Sserubugo hanged himself on Tuesday night and his body was only found in the morning by close relatives.
