Bobi Wine Goes Mute As Gov’t Reportedly Holds Lumbuye
When Foreign Affairs Minister Hon Okello Oryem held a presser on Friday afternoon and announced that sensational Facebook blogger Fred Kajjubi Lumbuye would be touching down at Entebbe International Airport on Saturday morning, every body on social media reacted with a sting of mixed emotions.
However when Saturday morning came, several journalists who had camped at the Airport could not spot the venom spitting blogger among the people who were disembarked from the plane.
When security forces were asked about the situation it was only claimed everything was under control with some sources revealing that Lumbuye had been secretly whisked away from the Plane & is currently being detained at an unknown location.
According to security sources, Lumbuye arrived in the country aboard Turkish Airlines, which touched down at Entebbe International Airport on Saturday at around 3 am.
He was held at the police station in the passenger terminal for two hours where he was interrogated and whisked off to Kampala. Multiple security sources say that Lumbuye was escorted by Turkish security operatives who took him through immigration and the police station for clearance.
“He was taken to the Turkish Embassy for further management and has now been handed over officially to the government,” one of the sources says.
However even with several hints that Mr Lumbuye could be under hands of the gov’t, the National Unity Platform Principle has not come out to demand for an explanations concerning the where about of his associate.
A number of Hash Tags have been created on Twitter with many people demanding that the Turkish gov’t does not extradite Lumbuye, however with a few sources claiming that Lumbuye could be in the country one would expect the Principle of NUP would be putting in some sustained pressure on the authorities
