News reaching us is that the lawyer, writer, and media personality, Nameere Justine has opened her TV station located in Kizungu, Masaka City.
This is the first TV station in the sub-region of Greater Masaka and the first TV station in Uganda that is owned by a woman, moreover a youth! The 31-year-old Nameere Justine, rose to fame in 2012 when she was presenting Life Stories on NTV Uganda, a show that took the country by storm. Viewers liked Justine’s beauty coupled with her brains as well as her articulate expression.
After resigning from her job at NTV due to alleged harassment by a former supervisor, Justine started her own production company where she filmed her shows and worked with TVs as a content provider, not an employee.
She has provided TV content to several TVs including Bukedde TV, UBC TV, Salt TV where she appeared as a face but also produced other TV content under her production company, where she never appeared as a face but as a producer, including The Miss Uganda Reality show for BBS TV, Tulambule Uganda for NBS TV and filmed documentaries for several organizations.
Nameere’s TV station is called TM TV, with its slogan as TUSIMBUDDE.
Celebrated Media consultant, Dr. Joel Isabirye is her consultant and technical officer. When we reached Dr. Isabirye for a comment, he confirmed the good news and said “Nameere is a very focused and hard-working go-getter! I have enjoyed putting this project together as her technical arm. I am glad finally a media practitioner moreover a TV presenter has started a TV Station. I have been advising veteran journalists to take this route but to my shock, this young lady approached my team with this magical idea. I was beyond shocked and impressed. Nameere is so passionate about her project, she has a unique program line upset for her viewers and I promise you that girl is one to watch!”
When contacted for a comment, Nameere declined to get into details but she confirmed the news and briefly said “I’m grateful to God for making my dream come true and giving me a chance to bring the first TV station to my hometown of Masaka.
First priority will be given to talent hailing from Greater Masaka but I will speak more about TM TV during its unveiling ceremony on the 30th of September 2021!”
Hon Florence Namayanja the new Mayor Masaka City noted that “a city must at least have a TV station but we had none in Masaka City so it is great news that our daughter of the soil is starting it, I hope it will be balanced and give an equal voice to all people!”
Dr. Joel Isabirye, the TM TV technical officer said that the TV is set to test its signal this September and kick off normal programming on Sunday, 3rd October 2021.
