Bobi Wine’s Pityful Condolence
The National Unity Platform (NUP) strongman Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine poured out his heartfelt sentiments toward the now deceased Army General Paul Lockech who deputized the leadership of the Uganda Police Force.
Lokech was appointed by President Yoweri Museveni on December 16th, 2020 to the helm of the police leadership as the Deputy Inspector General, following a blissful career in the army.
Gen Lokech ‘s first mission was to Mann January 14, 2021, presidential elections to which he scored highly.
This was on the heels of the November 18 and 19 rioting that left 54 people dead and dozens nursing grave wounds.
On December 30, Gen Lokech executed his 1st mission, as a police chief, an operation in the Kalangala district that witnessed the arrest of Bobi wine and his airlift back to Kampala.
In the same operation, hundreds of persons were arrested and detained while campaigning alongside the NUP boss in Kalangala.
In a statement released by Wine, he portrays the deceased as a good fish in Gen.Museveni’s pond that was negatively used by the regime.
Wine says: “Gen. Lokech was a gallant, courageous and fine soldier. A lot has been said about his bravery on the battlefield. His peers talk of how he commanded from the front, sometimes putting his life on the line. Unfortunately, the Museveni regime has not only destroyed our nation, it has also distinguished itself in destroying careers and reputations of great men and women,”.
Bobi Wine’s Pityful Condolence
Wine says Lokech’s appointment was timely“Gen. Museveni, afraid to his skin of an impending election defeat, and well aware of the kind of rigging he was plotting to do, decided to deploy Gen. Paul Lokech to stop any attempt of the people of Uganda to rise up and reclaim their democratic rights, ”he noted.
Wine has however criticized circumstances surrounding the death of prominent personalities: “To date, there are many deaths which have left more questions than answers and this is one of them. To all soldiers and police officers who are still alive, my appeal to you is that you learn a lesson about this tragedy. One day we shall all be gone and what will remain is the memory of the works we did. Work for that,.
