President Yoweri Museveni is mad at political groups he says are instigating rapid murders in the Greater Masaka region.
In lesser than 2 months 29 mostly elderly persons have been hacked to death by mysterious assailants stirring panic and fear amongst locals .
Security forces have confirmed that 69 persons have been arrested in connection to the murders, of these,15 have been directly linked to killing 9 locals.
Museveni was passing out new prison graduates at Kololo on Tuesday.
He said the killings are politically motivated and the real ‘pigs’ behind this will be dealt with.
Museveni says; “It’s unfortunate that they (assailants) have caused the death of old people (in Greater Masaka) but they are finished…politically because once we bring evidence in court where will they go? These are just pigs”-
Museveni says with the arrests made so far, the sponsors have been identified;” Killing an old man or woman, you’re a pig. There’s no way you can commit a crime in Uganda & we fail to know you. Sometimes it’s just the failure of the police to mobilize well. Many of the young people have been arrested and the rest will be arrested”
He has assured the country of peace; “The country will remain peaceful. There are people who miscalculate & think they can disturb Uganda and NRM This is just self-deception because there’s no force that can defeat us whether politically or militarily”
Museveni says he will address the nation further on this matter next week.
