Police have announced that the 2 wanted National Unity Platform MPs were behind the brutal murder of Masaka locals.

Speaking at a joint security presser in Naguru on Monday, Police mouthpiece, Fred Enanga, revealed that both Hon Ssewanyana and Hon Ssegirinya designed plans to bring elderly down locals .

He explained that the MP’s worked underground to recruit youths following secret meetings that happened in Ndeeba, Kampala.

Enanga explained;”We zeroed on them based on the admissions from the suspects clearly indicating how they were recruited, taken through the intentionally designed plans in a meeting at Ndeeba that was aimed at creating the animosity against elderly persons in the selected districts, the suspects indicated to us how they were promised wealth as a motivating factor and it was under the command of the 2 politicians that the victims were hacked to death.”

Lt Col Ronald Kakurungu, the deputy Army Spokesperson, said they have established joint operations as security agencies led by the Uganda police force to bring the situation under control.

“We want to ensure we continue picking more information but also to de-escalate the threats, bring confidence to the people, continue operations,We want to continue to appeal for calmness by people in greater Masaka, that situation has been contained.”
