National Unity Platform boss Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi wine is on the spot again over his academic qualification at Makerere University.
This is after relentless City Lawyer Male Mabirizi petitioned the Law Development Centre Magistrates Court (LDC) to issue criminal summons to Bobi wine over false registration at Makerere University.
Mabirizi contends that Bobiwine obtained a Diploma in Music, Dance and Drama-MDD, 20 yrs ago fraudulently from Makerere University.

Mabirizi explains that Wine applied for a mature age entry scheme at 20 years which contradicts the Makerere University Prospectus of 1999/2000 -2000/2001.
He explains that for one to be admitted under the mature-age entry then, they must have been at least 25 years, or one needed to have completed formal education at least five years previous to the year of admission.
Mabirizi has submitted a certified copy signed by the Academic Registrar of Makerere University Alfred Namoah Masikye indicating these requirements.

The evidence submitted shows that Wine who was born on February 12th, 1980 was admitted at Makerere on October 20, 2000, on a government sponsorship but had never fulfilled any of the above requirements for entry.
Prior to his admission, Wine had reportedly gone through Kololo Senior Secondary School and Kitante Hill School.
Mabirizi wants the LDC Magistrates Court to issue criminal proceedings against wine for false pretense contrary to section 312 of the Penal Code Act.
“This complaint is supported by evidence contained in my affidavit and a draft change sheet for your approval. I pray that you issue the criminal summons for his attendance and plea taking as soon as possible”, reads Mabirizi’s petition.
Previous petition
In June 2021, Mabirizi dragged Makerere University to the Civil Division of High Court on grounds that Bobi Wine illicitly got his Diploma in MDD.
The case is yet to be fixed for hearing.
Previously, Mabirizi also accused Bobi wine of lying about his age and date of birth when he was joining the 10th Parliament as the Kyadondo East MP.
