African Music Album is taking Swangz Avenue star Azawi to places she has been and never been before. The 16-track album she and the her record label released on this year’s Independence day has appeared on Time Square Billboards in New York City, US.

Azawi who started singing just two years ago is now the third Ugandan star to appear on the famous and prestigious Billboard! The other two are multi-award winning musician, Eddy Kenzo and NUP darling Bobi Wine. Unlike Bobi who appeared there because of politics, Kenzo and Azawi featured on the Billboard purely because of music.

And for Azawi’s case, she is the first female artist from Uganda to appear there.

African Music Album features songs like My Year, Slow Dance, Majje ft Fik Fameica, Bamututte, Crazing For You Heavy, Fwa Fwa Fwa and many others.

The album is available on all music store album. Currently, it is debuted number one on Apple Music and has quickly immersed over 3M views on YouTube in her short career.

Meanwhile she is among the four African artistes set to represent Africa at the YouTube Black Voices Class of 2022.

Supported by the #YouTube Black Voices Fund, the #YouTubeBlack Voices Music Class of 2022 is a development programme designed to directly support and mentor Black artists, songwriters and producers worldwide.

The addition of songwriters and producers to the 2022 class demonstrates the continuation and expansion of Youtube’s efforts to support Black artists on the platform.
