Uncut Kalakata, a gossip TV show which has been airing on NBS TV for the past four years is no more, this website understands.
For the second week now, gossip shows have not been airing on local TVs due to a directive from the Uganda communication commission (UCC) to move them to late hours of the night.
The memo from UCC demanded that these shows must air between 10 pm to 5 am due to the continued violation of the minimum broadcasting standards.
With effect from Tuesday night, Uncut Kalakata will only air on Sanyuka TV, not NBS TV.

With a relatively smaller audience of Sanyuka TV, the show is expected to struggle for viewership. Subsequently the show hosts, Kayz and Zahara Toto have apparently had their monthly salary deducted since the pair have been relieved of duties.
Earlier this month, NBS TV in conjunction with UCC trained its employees further on the Minimum Broadcast Standards and what is legally expected of a journalist, show host, or producer.
According to an inside source, the Naguru based media station prioritized equipping its staff with more knowledge regarding their code of conduct and broadcast standards to avoid the same scenarios, going forward.
The training came after three Sanyuka TV journalists were remanded to Kitalya Prisons on charges of offensive communication. Isaac Kayz Kawalya, Williams Marko, and Brain Wako were sued by singer OS Suna who alleged that they made defamatory statements against him during the Morning Express gossip show segment on August 27th, 2021.
Together with renowned music critic Isma Olaxess, the three TV personalities were slapped with charges and remanded to Kitalya University of Understanding only to be released on non-cash bail on 6th October, 2021.
While enrolled at the University of Understanding, Kayz and colleagues had their head shaved clean, shaolin style with no apology.
