Five Uganda players

With Cranes having a chance of making it out of Group E, here is a list of players who could make an impact against their fierce neighbors Kenya.

1. Charles Lukwago

Former KCCA player now at St. George, has played in three out of four qualifiers and is yet to concede a goal. His command of his area is good and he has an eye for releasing the ball quickly to initiate counter-attacks. Kenya have to ensure they are alert to his threat with ball in hand.

2. Timothy Awany

Awany who plays for Fc Ashdod in Israel has been solid at the back and has played a vital role in ensuring the team does not concede in the four matches they have played. He is a good game reader and an aerial threat when it comes to set-pieces. Awany is also good at ensuring his team mates stay in their shape.

Khalid Aucho

He joined Young Africans in Tanzania recently, the interim skipper is one of the most experienced players in the Cranes squad. He knows what to do when the team is under pressure, and on most occasions, he enjoys dictating the tempo. Kenyans have to try and cut ball supply to and from him, if not, they will be in for a long evening.

Allan Okello

The versatile attacker has of recent been getting regular football at his professional club Fc Paradou, is good at creating chances as well as taking those that come his way. He is good at dribbling and is always ready to help the defenders. The best way to stop Okello is by man-marking him and playing a physical game to frustrate his influence.

Bayo Fahad

Just like Timothy Denis Awany, Bayo plays for the Israel club fc Ashdod, the towering attacker punished Rwanda twice to ensure Cranes retained their chances of making it to the final phase of the qualifiers. He is physical and a natural hard worker who is ready to punish any mistakes that may be committed by his opponents.

Five Uganda players

Uganda with eight points so far collected and second in the group will play Kenya tomorrow whereas its competitors in the group Mali will be paying a visit to Rwanda. The winner in the group will qualify to the next knock-out stage of the World Cup qualifiers.
