Fans of the WWE can gear up for another thrilling Pay-Per-View event, Day 1, which will be held at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on the morning of Sunday 2 January 2022. SuperSport will air the event live and have a prime-time repeat later the same day.

No rival can compete with SuperSport‘s  coverage. Our viewers on DStv have found their #HomeOfSport.

Day 1 will be the WWE’s first Pay-Per-View event to take place on New Year’s Day (though it will be January 2 for SuperSport viewers due to the time difference) and is set to be headlined by a thunderous clash for the WWE Universal Championship between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

The pair met back in October at the Crown Jewel Pay-Per-View, with Reigns claiming a controversial win with the outside help of Paul Heyman and The Usos. ‘The Beast’ has promised that things will be different this time around.

“Roman Reigns had to cheat to stop me taking his title from him at Crown Jewel,” said Lesnar. “But even those kind of tactics won’t be enough at Day 1. A New Year, a New Champion…. mark your calendar.”

Another exciting clash sees two WWE legends – Edge and The Miz – go one-on-one. The Miz sees the clash as the chance to take revenge on his opponent for not helping him when he was in the formative years of his career at WWE.

“Don’t mistake my – for lack of a better word – kindness for weakness,” Edge warned The Miz. “I don’t know what’s going on here, but clearly you have bigger issues than me. What is the deal?”

The Miz replied, “Kindness? You when I could have used your kindness? When I was kicked out of the locker room back at the start of my career in WWE for not fitting the mould. Everyone knew I have the ‘it’ factor, but everyone was so busy protecting their spot… including you! So your kindness… I don’t want it or need it!”

The match card also features The Usos and the New Day battling for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, as well as Big E, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley and Kevin Owens in a Fatal Four Way clash for the WWE Championship, and Liv Morgan hoping to dethrone ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch in a Raw Women’s Championship match.
